Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of Victor C. Wise III, a devoted hero whose 23 years of service in the Army National Guard exemplify commitment and courage.
Story submitted by Victor C. Wise II: "My father served 23 years in the Army National Guard. Among many other highlights, he was a first responder following Hurricane Katrina, spent a year at Guantanamo Bay, and led troops during a tour of duty in Iraq, where he earned the Bronze Star. Vic retired as a decorated First Sergeant with an incredible service record and the respect of all who served alongside him. His service to our country inspired my brother to join the Army and me to create an event called Freedom Ruck, where we ruck with the American flag from the Virginia War Memorial to Arlington National Cemetery in under 48 hours (raising money for the Navy SEAL Foundation). He is the definition of a proud American."
Thank you, Victor, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
