Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.

We’re honored to share the story of Martin H Schroeder, whose selflessness knew no bounds, and his unwavering dedication to veterans has touched countless lives.

Story submitted by Beatrix Schroeder: "My husband dedicated his life to all Veterans.  He brought World War II Veterans to Washington, D.Cl. to see their memorial. He helped build a Memorial with the Rotary Club located in Lords Valley, PA for the Veterans .  Paid for all the packages for our  Veterans in Afghanistan from Lords Valley, PA.  He hung the flag in Mount Rushmore which was such a honor. Went to Fort Drum in N.Y. to welcome home a very close friend who was a captain & his men returning home from Afghanistan. Gave his old truck to a Veteran.  Opened our home to (2) Veterans to help get them back on their feet. Paid for breakfast for Veterans on Veterans Day in a Lords Valley, PA Deli. Reached out to the daughter of a Veteran he served with that got killed who wanted to know about her father. Took a World War II Veteran to the doctors even though his family wanted to but he had a special bond with my husband & truly looked forward to being with him. My husband is a True Hero!"

Thank you, Martin, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
