Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of Marc Gray, an Army veteran who embodies resilience, and continues to support and uplift his brothers and sisters in arms.
Story submitted by Lyndsay Gray: "We are a dual military family. Both of us are medically retired. Marc served active duty army for 12 years MOS was 74D Chemical deployed to Iraq in 2007 was attached to an EOD unit where he helped dispose of chemical weapons and bombs. On December 8th 2008 he was in an IED blast and was the only survivor in his vehicle. He had wounds to his face and severe abdominal trauma. He died three times from evac pick up to transport to the level one trauma facility and is now missing his spleen and has TBI. He fought to stay in, and I was his x ray tech at Walter reed. He has the heart of a warrior and continued his service for almost ten years after his injuries for which he received a Purple Heart. We now have a catering business that focuses on feeding homeless veterans, transitioning veterans, and some veteran programs like the Purple Heart. He has gone back to school to have a better understanding of how to run the business and start it as a 503 to help veterans. He continues to try to serve and help our brothers and sisters that need help. He is one of the strongest bravest people I know."
Thank you, Marc, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
