Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of Dave Barr, a Vietnam Marine veteran whose bravery extends far beyond the battlefield.
Story submitted by Garry Thomas: "Dave is a Viet Nam Marine Veteran who has also fought in Isreal, Rhodesia, and South Africa. He lost both of his legs in 1981 while serving. After his service, he founded the Patriot Express Foundation to help disabled veterans. To bring attention to disabled Vets Dave rode a Harley Davidson around the world over 83,000 miles. We now put on benefits in KS, MO, SC & FL to raise money for veterans, and Dave at 72 years old, rides his Harley across from California to attend each event. We just finished 2024 on September 27th, as Dave returned home after 7,734 miles."
Thank you, Dave, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
