Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.

We’re honored to share the story of Nelson L. Caviness, a veteran who not only served his country during the Vietnam War but has also devoted himself to honoring fellow veterans.

Story submitted by Nelson E. Caviness: "I believe my Dad deserves this flag not only for his volunteering to join the Navy and be sent into the Vietnam War, but also for his service to Veterans. He has been an avid member of The Patriot Guard. If you don't know, they escort on motorcycle the funeral procession line to the grave site of the Veteran that has passed. He has done this since about 2015, and has also been asked individually to lead Veteran's funerals at request of the family. He is a dedicated patriot and he is the reason I chose to serve in the US Army."

Thank you, Nelson, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
