Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of Benjamin Woods, a devoted Marine who, after 21 years of distinguished service, continues to inspire the next generation.
Story submitted by Gerri Woods: "He served 21 years in the US Marine Corps in which he retired in Aug 2021. After retirement he continued to serve in the capacity of a High School Navy JROTC Instructor. He has worked at 2 separate schools since retiring but the relationship he has formed with the Cadets as a mentor shows his true character. This past school year out of 20 graduating senior cadets. 11 entered into military service and most of them contact their “Top” and talk about boot camp and come back to the unit to visit. We have 3 boys all have entered into the service as well. Our oldest in the Air Force, middle son in Army and youngest currently a sophomore in college ROTC program all have seen the long deployments and still choose to join to be like their father."
Thank you, Benjamin, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
